Today I Learned:
  • Willie Nelson has been playing the sameness guitar for over 50 years and has accumulated many signatures on it ranging from friends and family to country legends such as Johnny Cash.
  • A computer programmer in the World Trade Center during 9/11, who’s name is Abraham Zelmanowitz, staying in the building to assist his handicapped friend who didn’t have a way to get out.
  • The most boring day in existsnce was on April 11th, 1954 by Cambridge analysts.
  • We don’t see the color black when we close our eyes, instead we see a color known as Eigengrau and no one is sure why that is exactly.
  • Gold is so rare that there is more steel being poured every hour than gold being poured since the beginning of recorded history.

Koalas have one of the smallest brains in proportion to body weight of any mammal. They are so dumb, that when presented with leaves on a flat surface instead of on branches, they are unable to recognize them as food and will not eat them.

At Russia’s research bases in Antarctica, it is banned to play Chess after an incident where two individuals were playing chess and after one of the individuals lost, they murdered the winner with an axe.

Might as well just post the link to the reddit post right.

As per the TIL part: The Ojama archetype in YuGiOh! is actually named after *the* Hideo Kojima. Apparently he was nicknamed "Ojama" by his collegaues before he left Konami and they were so fond of it that they incorporated it into the game, anime and manga and made it into a proper, although meme-y, card archetype.

A Nintendo Entertainment System cartridge was recently discovered by a man known as Stephan Reese. This cartridge holds data for an unknown gameboy titled “UWC” Which stands for “Universal Wrestling Corporation.” Which was the name of WCW, World Championship Wrestling, when it was purchased by Ted Turner in 1988. This game was developed by now closed studio, SETA. Characters include the iconic wrestlers of: Ric Flair, Sting, and Hawk and Animal from the duo “The Road Warriors.”

Since it’s discover a few days ago, Stephan has followed the route to get the game digitized so that it is forever stored and archived like most games.

As for where the game came from, apparently Stephan bought it from a Nintendo employee who had it for testing purposes as he was a wrestling fan.

There is a mammal that can go it’s entire lifetime without having a single drop of water. And by lifetime I mean not dehydrating to death. It’s often speculated that Camels can go the longest without water thanks to their ability to save water, but the Kangaroo Rat can go anywhere from 2-5 years without having a single drop of water. Thanks to their adaptability, they are able to convert dry seeds into water during their digestive process.

Steam offered and gave out what was known as “Steam Press Accounts” Which was given to game review companies to give to their journalists. These account owners had access to every game on Steam in their library to play and test for free. These accounts still exist and offer lifetime warranty and access. Meaning if you worked for GameSpot or Square, you could have gotten a Press Account. There are people who managed to get these accounts as by saying they are a popular YouTuber.

Not gonna lie if I had that all-games-free steam account I'd probably get bored in like a week and sell it off for a small fortune. Steam has garbage games, especially nowadays (or maybe I'm just a dumb boomer who only plays classic doom and quake)

Most of history’s greatest disasters were in one way or more, directly caused by a lack of sleep. A few notable examples being: The Chernobyl Nuclear Meltdown, The Challanger Explosion, and the Exxon Oil Spill. The individuals who were looked into these and other similar catastrophes all shared a few similarities and those mainly being heavy exhaustion and lack of sleep. Most of which were caused by the job demands themselves.

So if you ever find yourself working in a high position that could cause global epidemics and possibly mass chaos, remember to get your 7+ hours of sleep.
