Have you ever had a moment or been a part of if someone else’s moment of agony when one slip on a keyboard just completely ruined a massive amount of effort? Today I have had this moment. I was browsing through these little achievement criteria requirements for AoTTG and decided to try my hand at it. The achivent was completing Forest III (No Crawlers No Punks) on Hard, but also during Night. No problem right? I’ve done it several times on day, so surely Night cant be thaaaat bad. Turns out it’s hard to see when there’s no sun. I spent a nice 3 hours or so failing at the 16~19 wave mark until I managed to get a lucky break. I killed all but 2. Giving out a sigh of relief and feeling accomplished to gain another badge, I put my hand on the keyboard and accidentally hit the reset button. So I did what any normal person would do; I closed the game and went to watch tv.

And that’s my recent “moment”.

I remember when I got a 4.5k but was so excited to tell people I didn't screenshot it and just quit the game and opened skype and 5 secs later it hit me.

Yeah that’s pretty bad. What’s worse are those moments when you actually do press your screenshot button, but Fullscreen breaks it and you just copy a blank screen to your clipboard. I think that happened to me a many of times when normal killstreaks were a thing and nothing like getting 800+ kills back in the day, pressing your hotkey, and it didn’t copy it properly.

Another game that had these moments happen to me a lot mainly dealt with RPGs. The whole “You better save every 40mins” type of deals. Pokemon, Tales, and even some of the YuGiOh games. However I have a story regarding the Pokémon one that isn’t based on saves.

Back when I was a young lad I was pretty big into Pokemon. I always played Emerald on my GBA basically daily, however I was also super ignorant to a lot of the mechanics. Pokerus, Bad Eggs, but the one I’ll talk about is shinies. I encountered my first ever shiny Pokemon on Victory Road which was a Hariyama. It did the sparkle and all, but it still looked normal to me since it’s shiny color isn’t that different. So I assumed it would give a ton of XP if I just killed it, I was wrong. It wasn’t until months later I learned of shinies and how rare they were. It hit pretty hard as I never thought I’d run into any more shinies since that day.

I remember being one game away from plat in brawlhalla. The connection sucked ass and I had terrible constant lag but got greedy and continued anyway. It was going surprisingly well until i got disconnected midgame.
Had I won that one match, I probably wouldn't have touched that piece of shit that people sarcastically refer to as a "video game" ever again.

Alas, i lost, got triggered, lost million matches in a row, never got the same Elo again, and despite my burning hatred for shithalla i still come back to it and every time it ends up with me getting tilted, losing thousands of brain cells, and having deep regrets about the time i've wasted playing dumb cancerous crap that's the complete opposite of fun

So I recently had this issue a lot recently, but not with anything like Brawhalla, but more towards mobile games. I recently downloaded UNO on my phone as it's a game I enjoy in my free time and it's a super casual game I can just play with friends on my breaks and such. Now, I don't know what it is, but their servers are the filthiest pieces of recycled sewage I have seen in a very long time. My connection at my apartment is 10mb/s download and 7mb/s upload. A fairly good connection even on wireless. However, every time a player were to throw a card down or an effect would happen, it would basically make the servers hiccup. So I would go from a perfect connection, to a nice 5sec re-connection about 3 times before it's my turn again. This has caused me to lose several games and since it's also a social game, I received quite a lot of hate due to these incidents that aren't even my fault. It's bad enough to where I could see it happen to other people in-game when my connection was somehow surviving. All this caused me to just uninstall it even though I played quite a bit for a while and got to a decent level. Upsetting and disappointing, but it just makes my review longer.

If you got the Steam version of UNO you deserve it buddy. That version is so utterly obviously just cramped together just with profit in mind and the comments and reviews mirror this. Refund it if you still can and boycott their asses.

Btw yeah servers in general nowadays are garbage (even the server that hosts this site)

Nah, thankfully I didn't buy it on Steam. It's just the free mobile game which honestly isn't a bad game and there aren't a ton of ads. Yeah it has this currency thing to play games, but not an issue if you're just a guy who plays like 8 games a day or so. I almost want to blame it on all the "Connect to FB" stuff where you h ave to download their FB images though their icons and causes more connection issues when a game loads. Plus the spamming of actions and phrases is also annoying. This kinda leads me into thinking that it's really bad because it may be sharing the same server(s) with the FB counterpart as they too have an UNO game that's super similar. I can't say for sure as I have only seen it through advertisements and my FB friend's postings. All in all, wish it could be better because it's a nice game when you leave your deck 2,000 miles away.

Aside from World Series Poker (Texas Hold'em) I never played mobile games. As far as I've seen, it's all just badly put together garbage.
The poker game was great though, probably because a lot of money went into it (obviously)

I can see that. Most mobile games are general garbage and simple money grabs since good developers (Like Gameloft, Ketchap, etc) can just recycle their games and make clones of themselves just for more revenue which really kills them. Especially free ones, but there are a few good ones out there that I still play, but not religiously as I feel that's not the intent for most mobile based games. I think Idle Apocalypse, Crush Them All, and Infinite Pool are the only games I keep and actually play. Mostly because they are mindless and are short pick-up games that just require like 2~3mins of playing every few hours. I would much rather play a game like Twilight Princess, Combat Evolved, or even a few emulators, but when I am on the plane or just want to multitask on my phone, those get me by as I am not a fan of things like Tik-Tok, Snapchap, Instagram, or anything that may subject me to stuff I would rather not want to see.
